Subject:I'm sick...

Went to the doctor today, and evidently I have Strep. Fun. I was gonna actually work my last week at work, but NOOOOOO. Don't know when I caught it, but I started feeling sick Monday, so I might have caught it Saturday night. Likely Jacob's party, as Miriam started feeling sick yesterday as well. So somebody at that party likely had it...I think the only person that might actually read this that was at that party was Crispy, though, and I called him, so I guess it doesn't apply to everyone. Just felt like complaining.

After railing against LJ, I finally jumped on board, and although I don't post that often, I do check it every day or so. I also railed against myspace, but there are a few people I know that aren't on LJ, but are on myspace, and vice versa, and a few on both. So if you are on both, I now have a myspace page...

I don't know how many of my friends here have myspace, but if you want to be on that list too, then sent a friend request.

Subject:I'm Spider Man, Bitch!
Time:04:33 pm
After being disappointed by my pumpkin, I found a quiz that suits me:

You Are Spider-Man

Quick and agile, you have killer instincts (literally).

And that kind of makes up for the whole creepy spider thing.

So Saturday is my 30th Birthday...I've been alive for 3 decades...I was born when FORD was president. I believe Brian said that 30 is the age when we're supposed to admit we're adults. So I might have to do that...

But FIRST...I'm going to have as much fun as possible Saturday...and I plan to remember very little. I'll be out on the lake in the daytime Saturday, but after that, the Drinking will start in earnest (me being unable to swuim, and on a boat, means I will not be drinking as MUCH during the daytime.)

I haven't de3cided where the evening will start...was thinking someplace downtown with good beer, or good food, or both. My thoughts are Flying Saucer, Blackstone, Big River, or Bosco's. After that, I was planning on seeing where the night takes us, but I was thinking it might take us to Pulaski, where there are no stupid 3 foot rules.

I only have a few friends on here, so you're all invited to wherever we go. If you have any suggestions on where to eat, I will take them...especially if you can think of a place that has good beer that I haven't thought of.

Wow...I won the lottery.

Well, not the jackpot or anything, but it's the first time I have actually won ANYTHING from Powerball. I won a total of 44 bucks.

I'm pretty stoked, cause that's 44 bucks I didn't have before...and I've been using my credit card lately, and I'd prefer not to.

I've explained relay calls before...I just got off the phone with a regular relay call, where the caller types, but the caller had the typing and grammar skills of a 14 year old script kiddie...or a Chinese Gold Farmer in WoW. I almost didn't sell her internet service, since she didn't have a computer. She wanted to get it for her video phone. She kept saying Video TV...which is really redundant. What other kind of TV is there? Audio TV? We have another name for that already...radio. Being deaf is one thing, I understand that. But this lady was just plain stupid. I eventually decided if she wanted to hook it up herself, fine, we'd take her money since she insisted on it.

I must be the only person in this company that tries to get people to spend LESS money on cable. I tell them to buy a router when they want a second modem, I tell them they don't need our networking service if they already have a modem, a wireless router is cheaper and better than a gateway anyway. I'm surprised I still have a job...

So I've decided Dragon Con is evil. I am unable to go this year, but I looked in my mailbox this morning, and found the "Dragon Con Progress Report" they had mailed me...showing all the fun that I was going to be missing, including Adam Baldwin, Summer Glau, and Alan Tudyk from Serenity, Nicholas Brendon from Buffy, Andy Hallet from Angel, James Callis from BSG, and Christopher Judge from SG-1. Even Matthew Lewis and Katie Leung from the Harry Potter movies, for the younger nerd in me.

I mean, yeah, I did get to see Adam Baldwin last year, along with Ron Glass, and the lovely Jewel Staite and Morena Baccarin to boot, but Baltar and Apollo weren't there, and I had to listen to Richard Hatch and watch his egocentric trailers of projects that will never happen. Although the stunning number 6 showed up to save that segment. I had to deal with the worst run Buffy Content I could imagine, with staff who hadn't seen all of the shows, and a crappy karaoke event with NO MUSIC. This year, Xander is there, and LORNE! you can't TELL me they'll have crappy Karaoke with Andy Hallett there.

Damnit, next year I'm making sure I have enough vacation time to go.

I know absolutely jack about HTML, so I can't make the link look nice or anything, so here:

http://www.comcast.net/news/index.jsp?cat=GENERAL&fn=/2006/08/08/451160.html&cvqh=itn_lieberman

I am normally loathe to do a political posting here, but FUCK LEIBERMAN. He's saying that voters are being disenfranchised because his people can't maintain a website, and wants to blame it on his opponent.

Voters disenfranchised....where have I heard about that before...OH YEAH! 2000 Presidential elections!

Remember in Farenheit 9-11, when they were showing the footage of all the disenfranchised voters in Florida, and they couldn't do anything, because the motion had to have at least one Senator to support it? Guess who was still a Senator at the time, because he was too greedy to give up his seat even though he was on the Democratic Presidential Ballot, even though every other Congressman does so when they run for president and make it past the primary. Not legally required, but generally done, because it shows a degree of confidence in your ability to win the election, and (here's a word the Republicans have hijacked) FAITH in your supporters to get you there. He even had a vested interest in those voters getting heard, and still didn't raise one finger to help. Maybe Leiberman's a racist, and didn't care since most everyone that got fucked over was black. I don't know that this is true, but what else can explain his lack of effort to get elected? I am upset about all the other Democratic Senators doing nothing as well...maybe it wasn't black people they don't care about, but poor people. (Republican motto: Fuck the poor! Democrat motto: Fuck the poor, but feel their pain.)

That movie had more of an effect on me than Moore intended. I already hated Bush, but that movie made me ashamed I voted for Gore as well, because he had Leiberman on the ticket. As sad as I am to admit it, I am glad they lost, because maybe, just maybe, this period of political, diplomatic, and economic hell we are going through will teach the Democrats to put somebody on the ticket WORTH VOTING FOR. I felt bad about voting for Kerry (although I liked Edwards). I almost didn't vote for Gore. I should want to vote FOR someone, not just AGAINST the guy I don't like. I swear, I might even Vote Republican if Leiberman or Hillary are on the 2008 ticket.

UPDATE: looks like Leiberman lost the primary, so he's going to try to get elected as an independant. If he gets re-elected to Congress in this method, I say we force Connecticut to give up their statehood until everyone who voted for him can be rounded up and soundly beaten. They should also have to give up ESPN and WWE home offices as well.

Harry Potter and Uncle Vernon are going to star in Equus...

http://www.comcast.net/entertainment/index.jsp?cat=ENTERTAINMENT&fn=/2006/07/28/443879.html&cvqh=quiz_nude

If you've never seen Equus, I do think it is a good show...but it's really fucked up. I saw it when ACT 1 did it, and it wasn't bad, but there was something inherently British about the show that doesn't translate when done by Americans. I think that it could be a good show with those actors, but I really don't want to see Harry's "magic wand". Guess it's only on stage, though, so unless you happen to be in London when it's playing...

Ever have one of those REALLY bad days? Last Saturday was that way for me. I got paid on Friday, but it was only like half a paycheck, because I missed a lot of days when I hurt my knee, being unable to drive and all. Add to that that the previous check was a little short due to missed days as well, and it does not add up to being able to handle unforseen expenses.

Cut to Friday night. Had a lot of fun seeing Sordid Lives again, then hung out at Ruby Tuesdays with some of them...in retrospect, Shane and I agree we should have gone to Mellow Mushroom with the smaller group, especially since we got seated in non-smoking, since there was no room in smoking. Now, I don't smoke, but a few of the people there did, and it was annoying to have to move if I wanted to socialize. Add to that the fact that Ruby Tuesday's is extremely slow, and it was not really all that fun, other than hanging out with Erin, which is always a good time, but we could have done that at Mellow Mushroom. So, after finally getting out of there, Shane and I went to Mellow Mushroom, but they were closed. We decided to call it a night, and I took Shane back to my car. Right before we were leaving, I got a call, and we then proceeded to go to Wall Street (which still sucks, btw...What kind of fucking bar has a cover charge without live music?) to meet a couple of lovely ladies, and had a good time for a while.

To make a long story short, after I left Crispy's, where I picked up my Guitar Hero after like a month, I was walking that fine line between being sober enough to drive, and being too tired to drive. By the time I got to Antioch, I was falling asleep at the wheel, so I decided to bite the bullet and just pull off and get a hotel. After paying 100 fucking bucks in ANTIOCH of all fucking places, I proceeded to collapse in my room, woke up the next morning...okay, 5 hours later at 10 AM...and had my fun little worship time at the porcelain altar, to officially begin my hangover. Checked out, started to leave...and my car felt a bit funny...I had a flat.

Fuck. Alright, fine, moved half the shit in my trunk into my back seat to get to the spare, and proceeded to sweat my hangover off while changin the tire, which was COMPLETELY flat...I mean, it was not even attached to the wheel anymore. then, before I could jack it up high enough to take the wheel off, my fucking jack BREAKS.

In half. Car comes crashing back down. So I call a tow truck, and get the car towed to NTB, which cost 65 bucks, and got a couple new tires, wich were 145 bucks...add that to the play ticket, Ruby Tuesdays, and Wall Street expenses, and I spent 400 bucks in less than 24 hours.

Plus, I think that little fall off the jack hurt the wheel, as it now squeals horribly every time I back up. But I can't afford to do anything right now, so I have to deal. At least Shane is paying for my ticket to the Brewer's Festival on Saturday, and any beer I drink at the company party that night.

So as loathe I am to borrow money, I ended getting 200 bucks from Budgetline as a paycheck cash advance. It's not ideal, but I think I can survive until next payday on that...
